Vivo T5 5G Launched in India With 7050mAh Battery

Vivo has officially expanded its T-series lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo T5 5G, a smartphone designed to combine long battery life, high-refresh-rate visuals, performance-focused hardware and AI-powered features. The new handset stands out immediately because of its huge 7,050mAh battery, while still maintaining a slim body measuring just 7.99mm in thickness.

The Vivo T5 5G also brings a large 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset, a 50-megapixel Sony main camera with OIS and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. It runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and is promised three generations of Android upgrades along with five years of security updates.

With a starting price of ₹34,999, the Vivo T5 5G enters a highly competitive segment where buyers increasingly expect premium displays, large batteries and capable cameras. Here is everything you need to know about the new Vivo phone, including its price, launch offers, specifications, features and sale date.

Vivo T5 5G Price in India and Sale Date

Vivo has launched the T5 5G in four RAM and storage configurations. The base model comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the most expensive version offers 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Variant Price in India
6GB RAM + 128GB storage ₹34,999
8GB RAM + 128GB storage ₹39,999
8GB RAM + 256GB storage ₹44,999
12GB RAM + 256GB storage ₹49,999

The smartphone will go on sale from September 9, 2026, through Flipkart, Vivo’s India e-store and participating offline retail stores. The phone is available in Royal Bronze and Silver Green colour options.

Vivo is also offering launch-day bank discounts. Customers purchasing the 6GB + 128GB model can receive an instant discount of ₹3,500, while the higher variants are eligible for discounts of up to ₹4,000 through selected HDFC Bank, SBI and Axis Bank cards. Six-month no-cost EMI is also available under the applicable offer terms.

After the introductory discounts, the effective prices can come down to ₹31,499, ₹35,999, ₹40,999 and ₹45,999, respectively. However, Vivo notes that these offers are subject to retailer and platform terms and are specifically tied to the launch period.

Large 7,050mAh Battery in a Slim Body

Battery capacity is arguably the biggest selling point of the Vivo T5 5G. The phone packs a 7,050mAh battery, yet Vivo has kept the device at only 7.99mm thick and around 199 grams.

According to Vivo’s laboratory figures, the battery can provide up to 14 days of standby time, 85 hours of music playback, 34.7 hours of local video playback, 16.9 hours of social media usage and up to 7.9 hours of gaming under specified testing conditions. Real-world endurance will naturally depend on network conditions, display settings, apps and usage patterns.

Charging is handled by 44W FlashCharge. Vivo says the phone can reach 17% from 1% in 10 minutes and around 44% in 30 minutes under its controlled testing conditions.

The company has also focused on long-term battery durability. Vivo claims the T5’s battery is designed to retain at least 80% of its capacity after up to 1,600 complete charge cycles, equivalent to roughly five years under its specified testing scenario.

The phone additionally features a Battery Life Extender that can preserve essential functions when the battery is critically low. Global Bypass Charging is designed to direct power toward the phone’s system during supported use cases once the battery reaches a certain level, helping reduce heat during charging and use.

6.83-Inch 1.5K 144Hz Curved AMOLED Display

The Vivo T5 5G is equipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, making scrolling, animations and supported games appear smoother.

Vivo claims the display can reach up to 2,000 nits of HBM brightness and has a 449ppi pixel density. It also offers a 93.82% screen-to-body ratio, DCI-P3 colour coverage and HDR10+ support.

The curved edges and narrow frame give the handset a more premium appearance than a conventional flat-screen design. The 144Hz refresh rate should also appeal to users who spend considerable time scrolling through social media, browsing websites or playing compatible games.

For users concerned about prolonged screen exposure, the phone includes several eye-comfort features. These include Eye Protection Mode, Sleep Comfort Mode and brightness adjustments intended to make viewing more comfortable in different conditions.

The display has also received SGS certifications covering low blue light, low flicker and sunlight readability under specified testing conditions.

MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo Powers the Phone

Under the hood, the Vivo T5 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo, a 4nm octa-core chipset designed to provide a balance between performance and power efficiency.

One of the major additions is the chipset’s MediaTek NPU 850 AI engine, which is designed to accelerate certain AI workloads directly on the device. Vivo claims up to 233% faster on-device AI computing compared with the previous-generation Dimensity 7400 in its internal testing using a specific 3-billion-parameter language model. These are company test results, so actual performance can vary depending on software and workload.

Vivo also claims an AnTuTu score exceeding 1.2 million for the 12GB + 256GB configuration under its testing conditions.

To maintain performance during demanding workloads, the T5 features a 3,800mm² vapor chamber cooling system and a total cooling area exceeding 23,000mm². Ten temperature sensors are used to monitor heat across the device.

This combination should make the phone suitable for everyday multitasking, gaming, video consumption and AI-based applications, although actual gaming performance will depend on individual titles and software optimization.

50MP Sony Main Camera With OIS

Photography is another important part of the Vivo T5 5G’s feature set. The rear camera system includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with four-axis optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

OIS can help reduce the effects of hand movement when taking photos and recording video. It can be particularly useful in lower-light environments, where longer exposure times can otherwise increase the possibility of blurry images.

The ultra-wide camera has a 115-degree field of view, allowing users to capture larger scenes, landscapes and group photographs without moving too far away from the subject.

For portraits, Vivo has included Multifocal Portrait modes with 1x, 1.5x and 2x options. The phone also provides a Bokeh Flare Portrait effect for users who want a more stylised background.

At the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera with an 84-degree field of view. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording, while electronic image stabilisation works alongside OIS on the main rear camera to improve video stability.

Vivo has also added AI Erase 2.0, which can be used to remove unwanted objects or distractions from photographs. Some AI functions require an internet connection and a Vivo account, and the company notes that results can vary.

OriginOS 6 Based on Android 16

On the software side, the Vivo T5 5G ships with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Vivo has committed to three generations of Android upgrades and five years of security updates for the handset.

The software package includes several AI-focused tools. These include AI Creation, AI Transcript Assist, AI Captions, Circle to Search 2.0 and Ultra HD Documents.

The phone also includes Vivo DocMaster, which is intended to help users view, convert, annotate and manage documents.

For people who use a phone and computer together, Vivo Office Kit provides features such as file sharing, screen mirroring, task handoff and notes synchronization between compatible devices. Private Space offers a separate area for personal applications, photos and files.

Another feature called Shake & Share is designed for transferring photos, Live Photos and videos between compatible devices while preserving quality.

Premium Design With Royal Bronze and Silver Green Options

Despite its large battery and sizeable display, the Vivo T5 5G has a relatively slim profile. The device measures 164.42 × 75.25 × 7.99mm and weighs approximately 199 grams.

Vivo has introduced what it calls a Skyline camera design, featuring a horizontal arrangement of the rear lenses inside an aluminium camera module. The rear panel uses an Aurora Liquid Crystal process, particularly noticeable on the Silver Green version, creating a shifting visual effect as light hits the surface.

The Royal Bronze finish uses warm metallic tones, while Silver Green combines silver and green shades for a more understated appearance.

The phone also features symmetrical stereo speakers. Vivo says its audio system is designed to provide balanced sound, while the company’s VEQ technology is intended to improve bass reproduction at lower and medium volume levels.

IP68 and IP69 Protection

Durability is another area where the Vivo T5 5G goes beyond basic smartphone protection. The device carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for resistance against dust and water under specified laboratory conditions.

The phone also supports Wet-Hand Touch, allowing basic touchscreen operation when the user’s fingers are wet in typical scenarios. One-Tap Water Ejection is designed to help clear water from the device.

Vivo says the T5 has also undergone X9 durability testing and MIL-STD-810H testing involving conditions such as extreme temperatures, dust and sand, rain, impacts and transportation-related drops.

As with any IP-rated smartphone, water resistance is not permanent and can decline due to normal wear, drops or physical damage. Vivo also advises users not to charge the phone while it is wet.

Connectivity and Other Features

The Vivo T5 5G supports dual-SIM connectivity and 5G networks. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, while wired connections are handled through a USB Type-C port.

Other hardware features include an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an infrared sensor and a range of standard smartphone sensors.

The device is also manufactured in India at Vivo’s Greater Noida facility as part of the company’s Make in India commitment.

Vivo T5 5G: What Makes It Stand Out?

The Vivo T5 5G is clearly aimed at buyers who want a combination of endurance and performance without moving into the ultra-premium smartphone category.

Its 7,050mAh battery is the headline specification, but the phone does not rely on battery capacity alone. The 6.83-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED panel, 144Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset and 50MP OIS camera give it a broader feature set.

The inclusion of a 32MP selfie camera and 4K recording from both front and rear cameras could also make the phone appealing to content creators and social-media users.

At the same time, the 44W charging system is less aggressive than some competing phones that offer substantially faster charging. Buyers should therefore consider whether maximum charging speed or extended battery capacity matters more to them.

Final Verdict

The Vivo T5 5G arrives with a clear focus: deliver strong everyday performance and exceptionally large battery capacity without turning the handset into a bulky device.

The 7,050mAh battery, slim 7.99mm body, 144Hz curved AMOLED screen and Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor form the core of the phone’s appeal. The 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS camera, 32MP selfie camera and 4K video recording add further versatility, while OriginOS 6 introduces a collection of AI and productivity features.

With a starting price of ₹34,999, the Vivo T5 5G will compete in a crowded Indian smartphone market. Its launch offers make the entry-level configuration particularly interesting for eligible buyers, while the 12GB + 256GB version targets users who want more memory and storage.

Ultimately, the phone’s biggest advantage is the combination of a 7,050mAh battery and slim design. For users who spend long hours gaming, streaming, browsing or working from their phones, that combination could make the Vivo T5 5G a compelling option when sales begin on September 9.
